It's Almost Over!

I just submitted my final research paper for the semester and if everything goes well I will be graduating fromSt. Edward's University on May 3, 2008 in Austin at 10:00 am.

I love St. Edward's University and the New College Program. If we still lived in Austin I would consider going on to graduate school.

Anyway, this is what I am doing to get ready..., I'm addressing announcements tonight, Rudy is taking my gown & hood to the cleaners and I'm anxiously waiting for my grades.

This has been a long time coming and I know that my family is glad that it is finally over.

Marla Hooch & Team

The City of Dallas has a softball league for employees and was started to improve the health of employees, but to also encourage building of friendships between departments.

I haven't played softball in probably 20 or 25 years, so to say that I stink at softball would not be an understatement! But I am having so much fun laughing at myself and the rest of the team that is worth it.

Rudy tells me to be careful and not to break or re-break my leg or ankle. He also says not to knock myself out with my bat, etc.

My brother-in-law found out that I'm playing softball and called me Marla Hooch..., he said that was better than being called "All-the-way May" I have to agree with him.

I will upload some pictures soon, be ready!

Women and Money

I've been reading and listening to Suze Orman lately. She is the female Dave Ramsey and I have enjoyed her show. Rudy and I are trying to be smarter about our money and saving but sometimes it can be pretty difficult for me to just walk by without buying anything.

Anyway, check out her site at http://www.suzeorman.com/ I think that you will find her quite interesting in how she addresses women and finances. I read her article in Oprah's magazine and she will be on Larry King Live tonight at 9 am central time.

Working, working, working..., too much working!

How many times a day do you wish you were doing something else? Today I wish that I could be a teacher or a professional angler. Different ends of the spectrum you say, either way I'd be a part of a school..., get it?

If you could do something different, what would you do?

Wonderings...,

do you ever just sit and wonder about stuff?

Like how can you eat so many deviled eggs and still stand?

How does confetti get into your underwear?

How did I get so out of shape? So lazy?

Why a good book has to end?

Why there aren't more PG-13 movies?

Why is it called "tennis" when there are only 2 players?

Grand Beginnings

This is my very first blog for Rudy and me. This way we can keep in touch with our family and friends and vice versa.

A couple of disclaimers: The opinions expressed by Rudy do not necessarily reflect the opinions of our home. Lex, Woodrow and I are liberals, Dallas Cowboy and Maverick fans. Also, opinions are welcome but just remember we have the option of not listening or believing everything that is written here.

Other than that we would love to here from you!
